Crockpot Chicken in Cream Sauce
  • 1 Chicken -- Cut Up
  • 1 Stalk Celery -- Sliced
  • 1 Sm Onion -- Sliced
  • 4 Sprigs Parsley
  • 2 Whole Cloves
  • 1 Carrot -- Sliced
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Sm Bay Leaf
  • 1/2 Tsp Thyme
  • Water
Cream Sauce
  • 4 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 C Chicken Stock
  • 1/8 Tsp Pepper
  • 1/2 C Cream
  • 1/2 C Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 C Chopped Parsley
  1. Place chicken in crockpot and cover with water.
  2. Add celery, carrot, onion and salt.
  3. Tie parsley, bay leaf, cloves and thyme in a small square of cheese cloth, add to the pot.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 7-9 hrs.
  5. Sauce: Melt 4 Tbs butter in a medium saucepan.
  6. Stir in flour and cook over low heat for several mins.
  7. Gradually stir in stock.
  8. Simmer until smooth.
  9. Add salt, pepper, parsley and cream.
  10. Remove chicken from pot, serve with sauce.
