Apple Pockets with Cinnamon Glaze
Great for camping
- 4 fresh Apples
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- Biscuit dough
- 1 egg
- Peel the apples, core and slice them into 1/2" thick slices.
- Put the apple slices in a pan and cover with plenty water.
- Pour in sugar and stir to dissolve.
- Add cinnamon.
- Bring to slow boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer until apples are soft
- Pinch off a fist sized ball of dough and pat it flat into a 6"-8" circle.
- Make 8
- Beat up 1 egg in a bowl.
- Lay cooked apple slices on 1/2 of the dough, coat the edges with the egg and fold over
- Now seal the dough edges.
(The egg will keep it from popping open while cooking.
- Bake until golden brown.
While the pockets are cooking make the glaze.
- 2 cups hot water
- Powdered sugar as needed
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- Cinnamon
- Add vanilla to the hot water then slowly pour in powdered sugar. Stirring all the time until you get a mix that is about the consistency of honey.
- Drizzle your glaze over the hot pocket,
- sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon.
These can also be deep fried
