A simple lantern can be made with Wagon Wheels (Ruote).
Use a round oatmeal box,
First cut away the bottom of the round box, then cut a line from the top edge down on one side, being careful to keep it from bending, I use a single edged razor blade for this.
Use masking tape to place on the inside to hold in place leaving a tap at the top for easy removal of the tape
Then cover the outside with saran wrap. Keeping as smooth as possible
Glue a ring of wheels around the bottom edge, being careful to not make too tight against the canister form
For subsequent rows, balance and glue the wheels in the row between the wheels in the lower row
Continue building to the height you desire
After it has thoroughly dried carefully remove from the form by removing the masking tape and carefully pulling the form and saran wrap away from the inside
Spray the form with a clear protective coating

Place your candle in a saucer, bowl or glass and set the lantern over it

This can be decorated by adding different shaped pasta in the design you like
