Egg Candles
These make a lovely table decoration placed in decorative egg cups You will need:
- blown egg
- wax
- wick
- matchstick
- pan
- water
- shot glass
- vinegar
Blow and dry egg
carefully cut away an at least 1 inch wide opening at the small end of the egg
Rinse the egg with vinegar and water
Allow to dry
knot a wick and thread through the hole on the bottom of the egg, pulling carefully up and securing with a matchstick or toothpick placed across the opening, making sure to center the wick
Place the egg in a shot glass
Carefully fill with wax melted over warm water.
Allow to cool
Carefully trim away knot on the bottom, so the egg sits firmly in the egg cup
Remove tooth pick and trim wick to a good length These are especially nice for an Easter dinner, when decorated with Easter designs and colors
