- Artus Van Briggle: While working at the Rookwood Pottery Co as a very talented designer was sent by them to study in Paris. He worked for them until his health forced him to move to a better climate in Colorado Springs, Colorado
- 1900 opened the Van Briggle Pottery and Tile Co
- 1903 Artus married Anne Gregory
- 1904 Artus died and Anne continued designing and creating 400 or more patterns
- 1913 the pottery was sold at sheriffs auction and became Van Briggle Art Pottery
