  • 1848 Christopher Webber Fenton left the Norton and Fenton Pottery and partnered to found Lyman, Fenton and Company
  • 1849 the name was changed to United States Pottery Company
  • 1853 they were featured at the Crystal Palace Exhibition in New York City
  • 1858 production stopped.
    Christopher Fenton moved to Peoria, Illinois and founded the American Pottery Co in 1859
They made Parian ornamental pieces, porcelain biscuit toys, flint enamel ware, marbled ware, rockingham, granite ware, tiles, white earthenware tableware, pitchers, toilet sets, and redware pitchers covered with slip
