  • 1841 W H Farrar operated a pottery making Rockingham in whiskey jugs, butter crocks, mixing bowls clay animals, etc.,
  • 1855 to 1871 the plant was called Empire Pottery and a line of whiteware was added to the lines
  • 1871 reorganized when local businessmen pooled resources and purchased the pottery, renaming it Onondaga Pottery Company
  • 1888 "Imperial Geddo" was introduced and won an award at the Columbian Exposition in 1993
  • 1959 a subsidiary "Vandesca=Syracuse, Ltd, of Joliette, Quebec, Canada was acquired
  • 1966 renamed to Syracuse China Company which had been used as marks since 1879 on a line of china
  • 1970 Syracuse discontinued the line of china for home use
  • 1984 Mayer China Company was purchased
