Several companies used "Sterling China", including but not limited to: Limoges China of Sebring, Ohio for a very short time, Homer Laughlin, and probably Onandango Pottery. The result being that collectors need to study carefully the marks, glazes, and body of the wares.
  • 1917 Started by B E Allen in Wellsville, Ohio. Made hotel/restaurant/railroad china ware ware
  • WWII produced china for the armed services
  • after WWII bought a new shape designed by Russel Wright
  • 1954 acquired the Scammell lines of china
  • 1950s acquired the Iroquis Vega Baja, Puerto Rico plant, to produce "Caribe China"
  • 1959 to 1969 Sterling owned and operated the Wellsville China Company
  • 1977 the Vega Baja plant was closed
