  • John J. Herold worked for the Owens Pottery Company and the Roseville Pottery attaining the position of superintendent of the art pottery section of Roseville 1900-1908
    He moved to Denver, Colorado in 1908, upon advice of his physician after sustaining damage to his lungs from the fumes produced in the developement of the glaze for the Rozane Mongol line
  • 1910 Adolf Coors Sr. of Coors Brewing Co, financed Herold to establish the Herold Pottery Company in Golden, Colorado
  • 1912 Herold left the company
  • 1920 the name was changed to the Coors Porcelain company
  • W.W.II Coors stopped production of all non-essential items and began the production of porcelains to be used as needed by the US military, such as electronic ceramics and nose cones for rockets.
  • Post W.W.II Coors resumed production of matte glazed vases and beer mugs
